Skilled Wound Care goes international!
Skilled Wound Care has now received international accreditation for its Skin, Wound, and Ostomy course exam, which means we are on the way to educating and helping nurses all over the world!
Over the five years that Skilled Wound Care (and its educational arm, the College of Long Term Care) have been offering training to nurses, more than 1300 certifications have been granted all across the country, bringing a higher standard of care to patients in skilled nursing facilities.
And now, that same certification is available and valid for nurses around the world. The exam tests competence for clinical care in skin, wound, and ostomy care, specifically for nurses in skilled nursing facilities.
“I never thought in my wildest dreams that we’d be teaching nurses throughout the world,” said the President & Founder of both Skilled Wound Care and the College of Long Term Care, Dr. Bardia Anvar. He went on to explain that he and the Skilled Wound Care team were motivated to provide the best possible wound care education to nurses, and to help them overcome the major obstacles to getting wound certified, namely prohibitive cost, and the low availability or inaccessibility of courses. “It’s just an amazing honor,” he said.
