Our Mission
Skilled Wound Care was founded to provide care to those who cannot, for one reason or another, get easy access to it on their own. We bring care to our patients because we believe that everyone deserves access to quality wound care.
The focus of our partnerships are with skilled nursing facilities like nursing homes, and places that house the elderly. Residents of nursing homes are often an overlooked population, but they are still deserving of respect. Our older patients are important to us, and we are committed to bringing them dignified care.
Another important focus of ours is to train others in what we do and how we do it. Knowledge of wound care is too important to keep to ourselves, so teaching others the skilled needed to treat wounds properly is a large part of our mission.
We don’t just treat wounds--we monitor the process and collect data so that we know what worked and what needs improvement. Our primary goal is a healed wound, but we can learn from them even if they don’t heal right away.
It is our mission to deliver the best care possible, in areas and ways where it has never been given; to provide the best results to all involved, especially our patients; to partner and team up with the nurses who already work at these facilities; and to touch and improve as many lives as possible.
Skilled Wound Care is a mobile surgical practice committed to transforming the chronic wound care model in nursing facilities. Wound care experts make weekly bedside visits to patients in long-term care facilities, avoiding transfers to hospitals or clinics. Our expert physicians give patients the most up-to-date and effective wound treatments, and educate facility staff on how to help patients continue to heal quickly and effectively between visits. This model of collaborative care allows SWC’s physicians to improve patients’ lives and health outcomes, to empower nursing staff, and to raise public awareness. Skilled Wound Care, along with its nurse and nursing home partners, is working every day to positively transform traditional nursing home wound care
